10 Pop Videos of 90’s That Made Us All Gooey and Mushy
There was a charm in the 90s, and I am sure that not just us, but many of the millennia kids would also confirm it. The technology was still taking baby steps, and we were more into understanding the nitties of Orkut, than delving straight into the likes and comments of Facebook.
Friendships were real, the movies were fairy tales, and we were a confused combo of dreamland and adolescent realities.
90’s was a time to behold, and let me just pick a leaf out of the whole lot of memories, to take you through some of the cutest and mushiest pop videos of the era.
We loved these then, we love these now.
Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein – Pankaj Udhas
“The Gift of Magi” had never been more beautiful. Trust us to believe that we loved this version of Sameera Reddy better than any of her later sexy avatars.
Phir Haath Mein Sharab Hai – Pankaj Udhas
The ghazal maestro strikes again! The story of a man who lost his wife to his daughter, and the adorable father-daughter-dog relationship had us all tearing up.
Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi – Falguni Pathak
This is just the start of what is to follow. This foot tapping number had all the teen girls of the 90s dancing to the tunes. And yes! The ending scene when the swoon”some” man of dreams comes to Riya Sen’s rescue…We just died of cuteness overdose.
Maine Payal Hai Chhankai – Falguni Pathak
She was truly the queen of the time. We love this music video, with the triangle girl-next-door, prince charming, and the popular girl. And the cute “umbrella” all the best cum sorry, what is not to love about this one!
Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye – Falguni Pathak
Apart from the fact that we have the very bubbly Ayesha Takia as a totally out of place teen in a royal palace, we have a very charming guy, who just makes our hearts tick-tock. Falguni Pathak really had some gems up her sleeves.
Chuimui Si Tum Lagti Ho – Various, Yeh Hai Prem, Rajhshree Productions
Back then when Rajshree Productions had a cute and somewhat realistic balance of love and “sanskaar” in their movies, they came out with this music album. The gorgeous Preeti Jhangiani and Abbas took us on a dreaming ride with this romantic number.
Ab Mujhe Raat Din – Sonu Nigam
Yes, the man was a lethal combo of looks and voice, and when the voice flows to frame this love ballad on our souls, we just can’t help falling in love. Diwakar Pundir and Sushma Reddy stole our hearts in this one.
Gur Naal Ishq Mitha – Bally Sagoo
Jas Arora and Malaika Arora in this foot tapping Punjabi wedding number. They set our hearts racing and our senses exhausted with the energy and chemistry just oozing on the screen.
Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra – Aryans
Shahid Kapoor as the starry-eyed teen who falls in love with the gorgeous neighbour. The sweet infatuation sets many bells of nostalgia ringing, even now.
Raat Shabnami (Janam Samjha Karo) – Asha Bhonsle
Though this video came in 2001, we just had to include it, because well, Milind Soman. Need we say more?
So this was the list of our favourite mushy vushy vids of the era. We did not have the likes of Honey Singh then, and how grateful we are for that. 😛
